So she listens to the Shins, speaks her mind and likes to be spontaneous. In most films that would equal a massively annoying indie chick (see Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist & to a lesser extent, Juno). Garden State’s Sam however, is just one extremely cool girl. It might be the plain characters which she is placed around, or the character arc of those plain characters, making her look like the awesome trendsetter who doesn’t try hard at all. Or, at the end of the day, it might be the fact that Natalie Portman is just one extremely cute person. with an awesomely bubbly personality, out of the ordinary views on life and a very sexy appearance, Sam is practically that dream girlfriend that a lot of us would love to jump with on a large construction vehicle and scream at the top of our lungs. for being the ultimate girlfriend, Sam makes it #7
