A girl named Jenny, a lieutanant named Dan & a hell of a lot of shrimp. Forrest Gump is the story of Forrest Gump. simplicity at its best. The tale of a man told by that man on a park bench. Sounds pretty simple, but the adventures this man has had is enough to make the oscar winning performance the 14th best character I have found. Making his way through life basing decisions on the morals and manners he was done taught by mumma, Gump always wants to be and do good. This starts to piss off a few characters including Lieutanant Dan (Gary Sinise), but eventually Dan gives into his simple charm. A character you watch and think ‘if only there were more people like that in the world’. He doesn’t seem to understand the importance of things like politics and war (even telling the president in an acceptance speech that he has to pee), but he understands friendship, love…and running…running fast as he can.
